a joyful, confident introduction to a new author’s voice
This book is an impressive and confident debut, especially for a first-time author. From the opening pages, it’s clear that the writer has a natural ear for dialogue and a deep affection for her characters. The conversations feel lively and authentic, full of wit, warmth, and just the right amount of mischief. You don’t just read about these women, you can hear them, picture them, and feel their chemistry on the page.
What stands out most is how fully realized the characters are. Each one has a distinct voice and personality, and together they create a dynamic that’s both entertaining and emotionally engaging. The humor lands easily, the pacing keeps things moving, and the story has an inviting, almost cinematic quality that makes it hard to put down. For a first book, this is a joyful, confident introduction to a new author’s voice, and it leaves you eager to see where she takes these characters, and her readers, next.

A Heartwarming Story of Sisterhood
Really enjoyed this novel! The characters were very vivid and colorful, each with their own distinct personality. Through all the events of the story, what remained consistent was their genuine sisterly bond, which was very touching. The author did a great job bringing them and the story to life, complete with more than a dash of a Southern, Texas style charm.

Reads like a movie
Readers, listen up!!!
If you enjoy stories filled with adventure, mystery, crime, and a group of very different but fun Texas “chicks,” Only in Texas: a Chick’s Travel Adventure by Jamie Kristen is the book for you! A well written storyline and a few quirky characters, and their normal BFFs, will make this book one of your favorite reads. You’ll finish one chapter, telling yourself to put the book down and “get a few things down,” only to pick it back up and peruse the next chapter to find out what happens next. This novel reads like a movie, as descriptions of all things, including this very different group of women, are easy to “see” as you read. Enjoy!
